Amy Stump, PharmD, BCPS

Hello everyone!!My name is Amy Stump and I am your new clinical pharmacist.I obtained my PharmD at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy in 2003 (Go Big Red!)After graduating, I did a Primary Care Pharmacy Practice Residency with Mission Hospitals and the Mountain Area Health Education Center Family Medicine Program in Asheville, NC.After residency, I took a job with the Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy, but was placed at the University of Alabama College of Community Health Sciences in Tuscaloosa, AL.(Anyone with knowledge of the SEC will know how precarious this situation was!)We eventually left Alabama to get closer to home (Nebraska) and ended up in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where I took a faculty position with the UW School of Pharmacy and was placed at the UW Family Medicine Residency Training Program in Cheyenne.Eventually, my husband and I had an opportunity to move to Indianapolis and I took a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist position with the IU Health Methodist Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program. While we were in Indy, we realized how much our family missed the Rockies, so when an employment opportunity came up for my husband in Fort Collins, we decided to come back to the West. We’ve been in town for about 1 year now. When we returned, I spent several months home with my kids trying to decide what to do.I was pretty burnt out on academics as I didn’t like always being torn between research, teaching and practice.Eventually I took a couple of short-term, part time positions: implementing the pharmacist portion of the CMS Innovation Award received by the State of Wyoming and working PRN for Banner Health in their anticoagulation clinics.I am so happy to finally have a place like AFM to be my professional home.I am really looking forward to learning more about the practice and seeing how I can fit into our amazing team!Away from work, my family consists of my husband, Bryan, and our 2 kiddos: Lexie (5) and Austin (2).We love hiking, playing at all of the amazing parks in town, going to the library, arts and crafts (bring on the glitter glue!) and family movie night. When I get the time, I love to read historical fiction and cook…especially whatever is on the cover of the Southern Living Magazine each month!
