Susan K. Klingner, M.D.

Not Accepting New Patients. Dr. Susie Klingner was born and raised in Northern New Mexico. She received her B.A. in Biology at the Colorado College in Colorado Springs and then returned home for her M.D. at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. She completed her residency training here in Fort Collins in Family Practice. Dr. Klingner provides a full spectrum of family medicine care, but her special interests include women’s health, obstetrics and newborn care, and sports medicine. Dr. Klingner enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, Dean. She enjoys biking, running, hiking, backpacking, skiing, knitting, gardening, and mothering her two young children.

Timothy P. Podhajsky, M.D.

Dr. Tim Podhajsky was born and raised in Iowa City, Iowa. His undergraduate studies were completed at Luther College in Decorah, where he majored in biology and psychology. Having graduated from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in 1992, he headed west to complete his residency training at the Fort Collins Family Medicine Center. Dr. Podhajsky joined Associates in Family Medicine in 1995. Dr. Podhajsky provides a full spectrum of care in family medicine, with particular interests in prenatal and adult care. He enjoys the diversity and challenges that family practice presents. Most of his free time is spent doing family activities with his wife, Lori, and his children, Ashley and Ryan.

Jerome I. Smith, M.D.

Accepting New Patients. Dr. Jerome Smith attended medical school at the University of Iowa College of Medicine in his home state. His postgraduate training began with an internship at Hennepin County General Hospital in Minneapolis and was completed at the Family Practice Residency Program at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Smith was named Colorado Family Physician of the Year by the Colorado Academy of Family Physicians in July, 2004. Besides providing FAA physicals for pilots, doing vasectomies, and providing a general scope of Family Practice, he enjoys minor dermatologic procedures. With his 30 years of experience as a family physician, he is available for your family's pediatric, internal medicine, minor surgical, and general preventive medicine needs. Dr. Smith has three daughters and lives in Fort Collins with his wife Judy. He enjoys skiing, cycling, and travel.

Steven B. Tippin, M.D.

Now accepting New Patients. Dr. Steven Tippin was born at the University of Kansas Medical Center and 26 years later graduated from that same institution as a medical doctor. For a portion of that year, he assisted physicians in Dodge City, Kansas, before proceeding on to his internship. Dr. Tippin completed his internship and residency in Phoenix at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital. After finishing his residency, he spent two years in northern Arizona on the Navajo Reservation at Ganado working with the Navajo Nation Health Foundation. In 1982 he joined Associates in Family Medicine and moved to Fort Collins. Since arriving in Fort Collins, Dr. Tippin has practiced family medicine continuously. He has served as medical director for a local nursing home and as head of the Family Practice Department at Poudre Valley Hospital. He has also been a member of the PVH Executive Committee which is a physician decision-making group for the Poudre Valley Hospital Board. Dr. Tippin has a wife, Nancy and two daughters. He enjoys a wide variety of non-medical activities, including sports, music and exercise.

S. Elizabeth (Beth) Henderson, M.D.

Not Accepting New Patients. Dr. Sandra “Beth” Henderson was born and raised in Muncie, Indiana. She attended Indiana University in Bloomington, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. She then completed her medical training at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, and returned to Muncie for a residency in Family Practice at Ball Memorial Hospital. In July 2003, she relocated with her family to her husband’s hometown of Fort Collins, where she joined Associates in Family Medicine. She is board certified in family practice and enjoys the challenges and rewards of treating all ages and all members of a family. Dr. Henderson and her husband, Todd, currently have two children, Alex and Carmen. Most of her free time is spent enjoying time with her husband and children and taking advantage of all the outdoor activities available in Colorado.

Elizabeth A. Thurston, PA-C

Accepting New Patients. Beth Thurston, PA-C was born in Colorado and raised in Kansas. In 1986, she graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing. Her background includes cardiology and intensive care nursing, having practiced in Kansas City, Kansas; Casper, Wyoming and Ann Arbor, Michigan. Beth returned to school to attend the University of Utah Physician Assistant Program, graduating in 1997. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Beth joined Associates in Family Medicine in 1997. Providing primary health care to patients of any age, her special interests include cardiology, women's health issues, preventive health care and sports injuries. In her free time, Beth enjoys hiking, skiing, biking, tennis and visiting her family and friends.
