Thomas C. Coburn, M.D.

Accepting new patients

Dr. Thomas Coburn was born and raised in Iowa. He attended Iowa State University, graduating with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1979. After working as a veterinarian in the Army for six years, he returned to medical school at the University of Iowa and graduated in 1989. Dr. Coburn completed his residency training at Silas B. Hayes on Monterey Peninsula in California. Following residency, he fulfilled his military obligation from 1992 to 1997 at Fort Riley and Fort Leavenworth, both in Kansas.

Dr. Coburn joined Associates in Family Medicine in 1997. Board certified in Family Practice, his special interests include women’s health, obstetrics, pediatric care, and sports medicine. Dr. Coburn enjoys his time away from the office participating in outdoor activities with his wife, Sue and his children, Becky, Erin and Sam. He is also involved nationally as a rugby referee.
